The significance of museum collections in the late XX – early XXI century (when ethnographic reality seems almost disappeared) grows and takes on a different meaning. Museum collections are found as a full-fl edged fount, to be complement, and partially allows us to rethink ethnographic reality, described at the level of its existence in the XIX – early XX centuries. The whole experience of existence of museum sphere as the repository of universal values shows themself the national culture and ethnic traditions of the Slavic peoples of Eastern Europe remain importance today, while for most people the only determining factor in the sense of their own identity. Obviously, becoming more
global, the world is becoming more local. The museum remain the one at the shortlist of social and cultural  institutions, which preserves the natural mechanisms of preservation and transmission of cultural heritage. From the ethno-museological perspective we understand the museum space as a native text, the structure of which is subordinated to the logic of tradition development. In this sense, the museum is inherent to the culture. It is not only related to the universal models of translation and preservation of heritage, but it is part of it.
